Dr Hubbard Presents at the Annual Anxiety Disorders Association of America Conference in Miami, April 2015

Fifty million people in the United States have tinnitus. Roughly a third of these, 18 million Americans, develop a condition called tinnitus distress. Tinnitus distress is characterized by anxiety, irritability, worry, disturbed concentration and often insomnia. At present, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is the only evidence-based treatment for tinnitus distress. However, the demand for cognitive behavior therapy in the treatment of tinnitus far exceeds the supply of qualified practitioners. To address this problem, Dr. Hubbard has developed a training workshop for mental health professionals interested in providing CBT for tinnitus.  On April 10th, 2015, at the annual Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) Conference in Miami, Fl., Dr Hubbard presented: Acceptance-Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for Tinnitus Distress. The audience consisted of approximately fifty psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses. Contact information was shared, constituting a preliminary referral network for patients.
